DOTD to begin drainage, resurface project along LA 541

Jefferson Parish- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces lane closures for a $2.3 million project to install drainage and resurface the pavement of LA 541 (River Road) from LA 18 (Louisiana St.) to LA 18 (4th St.). Beginning Monday, September 9, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be alternating lane closures with the use of flagmen.
The contractor is Barriere Construction. The project is estimated for completion in its entirety in July 2020.
All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near an active work zone.
