RAMP/LANE CLOSURES: I-49 at I-20, Caddo Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Saturday, August 3, 2019, the I-49 northbound ramp to I-20 westbound in Shreveport, Caddo Parish will be closed from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Additionally, one lane of the I-49 northbound ramp to I-20 eastbound will be closed on Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

The purpose of these nightly ramp and lane closures is to allow the contractor to perform work related to the project to repair the joints on interstate bridge decks in Caddo, Webster and Bienville Parishes.

Expansion joints between the roadway and approach panels to a bridge allow for absorption of the expansion of highway pavement. These joints are designed to safely absorb the heat-induced expansion and contraction of construction materials, vibration, and to hold various portions of the roadway together.
