DOTD reinstating tolls on LA 1

Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that at 8 a.m. today, July 16, tolls on the LA 1 Expressway will be reinstated. Tolls were temporarily suspended on July 11 during the mandatory evacuation order for Grand Isle as Tropical Storm Barry approached.

As a reminder, any motorist who passed through the toll area during the suspension will not be charged.

Motorists are encouraged to check the status of road conditions prior to beginning commutes. Call 511 or visit www.511la.org for additional information. Out-of-state travelers may call I-888-ROAD-511 (1-888-762-3511). Motorists may also monitor the LA DOTD website at www.dotd.la.gov, by selecting MyDOTD, or by visiting the DOTD Facebook and Twitter pages.
