INTERMITTENT LANE CLOSURES: I-49 near LA 3132 interchange, Caddo Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Saturday, June 1, 2019, there will be intermittent inside lane closures – on Saturdays and Sundays only - on I-49 between mile markers 200 and 202 (near LA 3132 interchange) in Caddo Parish.

These weekend lane closures are expected to last approximately 45 days, and are necessary for the installation of median cable barriers.

Cable barriers are an innovative and cost-effective safety feature designed to deflect a vehicle that enters the median, keeping it from potentially crossing over into oncoming traffic. The barriers are designed to absorb the impact of the collision and hold a vehicle in the median rather than pushing the vehicle back into traffic.
