Emergency repair work scheduled for Jefferson Parish

Jefferson Parish- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the southbound intersection of U.S 61 (Airline Highway) and Causeway Boulevard in Metairie will be closed for repairs while crews perform emergency drainage and concrete work. The roadway at this intersection experienced damage and sunk due to a failing pipe below the concrete surface.
This intersection will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 12 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 14. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes during this emergency repair:
• The southbound U.S. 61 (Airline Drive) entrance-ramp to the elevated Causeway Boulevard traffic circle to the southbound U.S. 61 (Airline Drive) exit-ramp from the Causeway Boulevard traffic circle
• Trucks are encouraged to re-route to Interstate 10 or LA 3139 (Earhart Expressway)
