Dept. of Transportation and Development Announces Bid Results for Statewide Projects

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that 16 projects around the state were let on March 13, 2019. Thirteen contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $34.3 million.

“We’re continuing to move forward with infrastructure improvements within our state,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “The safety of motorists in Louisiana is our top priority, and we will continue to improve our transportation system to the best of our ability with the resources that we have.”

The projects and their apparent low bids are as follows:

Bridge Replacement and Repair:

  • Replacement of W. Esplanade Bridges at Duncan Canal in Jefferson Parish: $11,940,424.99
  • Replacement of Clark/Good Hope/Robeline-Provencal Bridges in Natchitoches Parish: $2,455,014.83
  • Replacement of Sneed Road Bridge over Toro Creek in Sabine Parish: $462,863.27
Pavement/ Overlay:
  • Grading, paving, and drainage on LA 15 and LA 565 at Deer Park in Concordia Parish: $1,073,526.59
  • Grading, paving, patching, overlay, and drainage on U.S. 425 between Bayou Lafourche Bridge and LA 134 in Morehouse Parish: $1,977,794.25
  • Milling, patching, and overlay on LA 124 between LA 8 and Enterprise: $1,775,184.90
  • Concrete replacement on Woodmere Boulevard in Jefferson Parish: $1,648,795.05
  • Patching and overlay on LA 159 between Kirkens Road and Angi Road in Webster Parish: $213,636.60
  • Patching on LA 481 between PR 539 and U.S. 84 in DeSoto Parish: $279,527.60
  • Grading, milling, patching, overlay, and drainage on LA 102 between I-10 and LA 26 in Jefferson Davis Parish: $2,388,643.47
  • Drainage, erosion, and road improvements at Southern University in East Baton Rouge Parish: $4,968,333.54
  • Patching on LA 16 between Colton Creek and LA 64 in Livingston Parish: $1,020,257.20
  • Milling, patching, and overlay on LA 3258 between I-10 and LA 383 in Calcasieu Parish: $308,639.30
  • Grading, milling, paving, and drainage on LA 18, LA 541, and LA 560-2 in Jefferson Parish: $2,387,333.00
Congestion Mitigation and Safety:
  • Cable barriers on U.S. 190 in St. Tammany Parish: $593,279.25
Other:
  • Dry docking, inspection, repairs, and painting of the St. Francisville, one of the Plaquemine ferries: $838,900.00

Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
