LEEVILLE, La.- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that use of the large hard-case toll tags to cross the La. 1 toll bridge in Leeville will be discontinued as of December 31. 2017. GeauxPass customers will need to exchange their hard-case tags for the smaller, more secure sticker tags by then or risk incurring violations on the toll road.

DOTD began transitioning GeauxPass customers to the newer tags in fall 2016. The older technology that allows the hard-case tags to be read will be permanently deactivated at the end of the year.

The La. 1 toll bridge operates on open road tolling technology allowing drivers with a valid GeauxPass account to access the bridge without stopping at the toll booth. Tolls are collected electronically by overhead vehicle identification sensors.

Motorists may open a GeauxPass account online at www.geauxpass.com or at the Golden Meadow Customer Service Center, located at 1821 Hwy. 3235. For more information about GeauxPass or the LA 1 toll bridge, visit www.geauxpass.com, e-mail customerservice@geauxpass.com or call (866) 662-8987.
