The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that the left eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10 between I-49 and LA 328 will be closed beginning Monday, November 27 until Friday, December 1, for roadway construction.

This closure is estimated to take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

There are no restrictions for permit loads.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience to the traveling public and encourages motorists to lookout for crews and their equipment.

This work is related to the FASTLANE I-10 widening project (State Project No. H.003003). This $125 million project will involve pavement replacement within the existing the lanes in each direction for 7.1 miles along I-10 from LA 328 to the I-40 Interchange. An additional lane will be added in the eastbound and westbound direction along with median barrier walls.

With the help of the FASTLANE grant, this is the second of three projects to reconstruct and widen the I-10 corridor from I-49 to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

The project began in July 2017 and is estimated for completion in 2020.
