NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the Interstate 10 Highrise Bridge is now reopened. The bridge was damaged by a fire nearly a week ago and underwent emergency temporary repairs to three girders that help support the deck or driving surface of the bridge.

Contractor Boh Brothers Construction Co., LLC worked long hours each day to construct the support system beneath the eastbound left and center lanes of the bridge with the goal of reopening in time for holiday travel. Almost 118,000 commuters travel the Highrise, daily.

Motorists can access the latest updates on real-time traffic and road conditions using the 511 Traveler Information System by dialing 511 from their telephone and saying the route or region on which they are seeking information.
