DOTD receives Sterling Agency Award, names UPPCC-certified staff

Baton Rouge, LA – Today, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that it has received a 2016 Sterling Agency Award. The Sterling Agency Award is an advanced level of recognition reserved for agencies that apply for and achieve Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) Agency Certification Award recognition for three consecutive years. DOTD has maintained a fully certified status since 2008 and won awards in 2010 and 2013.
“We’re proud of our staff’s dedication and achievements,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “It’s advantageous for our state and those that do business with us to have certified professionals working to improve infrastructure, and we congratulate those in our procurement section who have achieved this national recognition certification.”
Through its Agency Certification Award program, UPPCC identifies organizations that have earned the distinguished and unique honor of achieving and/or maintaining a high percentage of staff that are UPPCC certified. This program was developed to recognize those organizations that have made a concerted effort to achieve procurement excellence.
For the purposes of the award categories, DOTD is considered a small agency (1-11 qualifying employees). 100% of the qualifying staff must be UPPCC certified in order to achieve agency certification. The following staff are certified at this time:
