JEFFERSON PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is set to begin a $3.7 million project to resurface Interstate 10 from Causeway Boulevard to the Orleans Parish line starting Monday, April 17, 2017. The project, estimated for completion in midsummer 2017, is designed to extend the life of the existing roadway.
Contractor Barriere Construction Co., LLC will perform work to resurface just over two miles of I-10, including milling and replacement of asphalt roadway. The construction schedule will be 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday and nights only. Lane closures apply and will be announced as needed.
All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near an active work zone.
