DOTD announces closures for US 90B/Toll Plaza Removal and Reconfiguration – State Project No. H.009920

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces multiple closures for the project to remove and reconfigure the U.S. 90 Business toll plaza from July 23 through July 26.

US 90 Business (Pontchartrain Expressway)
  • There will be alternating lane closures on U.S. 90 B (Pontchartrain Expressway) near the toll plaza starting Saturday, July 23, until Sunday, July 25, 2016, from 9:00 p.m. till 5:00 a.m. nightly.
Terry Parkway on ramp and EB General DeGaulle on ramp to US 90 Business (Pontchartrain Expressway)
  • The Terry Parkway on ramp and eastbound General DeGaulle on-ramp to U.S. 90 B (Pontchartrain Expressway) eastbound will be closed starting Sunday, July 24, at 11:00 p.m. until Monday, July 25, 2016, at 5:00 a.m.
WB General DeGaulle on ramp to US 90 Business (Pontchartrain Expressway)
  • The westbound General DeGaulle on-ramp to U.S. 90 Business (Pontchartrain Expressway) eastbound will be closed starting Monday, July 25, at 11:00 p.m. until Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 5:00 a.m.
The closures are necessary for the installation of temporary concrete barriers and temporary striping for traffic control to shift traffic from Phase 1 to Phase 2 of the project, in order to remove lanes 7 through 10 of the toll plaza.

The suggested alternate route is U.S. 90/Huey P. Long Bridge.

Motorists should expect delays associated with the closures and should adjust their travel times accordingly.
